Are you having trouble logging in to your Bill.com account?

There are a few things to try if you are having trouble logging in to your bill.com account. If you have never logged in to your account and you did not receive your welcome email (or if you are listed on multiple accounts and your most recent emails don't have links to establish a password), don't worry -- you can still get logged in. Simply go to https://app.bill.com/Login and click Forgot Password. Enter the email address used to establish you as a user of the Bill.com account and we will send you a password reset email, which will allow you to establish a new password.

This is the same procedure to follow if you have forgotten your password -- there are so many passwords to remember, aren't there?

If you do not have access to your email box, or if you are not receiving your password reset emails, please call Customer Support at 866-989-2455. Phones are open from 8 am to 3 pm PT on weekdays.

How do I control access to confidential information in Bill.com?

At Bill.com, we take data privacy very seriously, granting access to your confidential business data on a need-to-know basis. To manage visibility, you can assign each user in the system a specific role. Each role has a different set of permissions as shown in the chart below. You can assign more than one person to each role. Depending on the size of your company, and your existing procedures, you may not need to use all of the roles.

Cash is King - Introducing CashView

As many of you know, I am a 4^th generation entrepreneur. When I was
a kid, my dad and granddad would say, “Cash is King” whenever we were talking about business. They would then go on to say "stretch out the payables and pull in the receivables to make cash last".  At the time I didn't really know what they meant because I was only 12. When I started PayCycle and was managing the day-to-day finances I started to really understand what they meant. As my understanding grew, I discovered there weren't any great tools to help me manage my cash flow. That's when I started noodling the idea for Bill.com.

My goal, when I founded Bill.com (whose original name was actually CashView), in 2005, was to provide businesses with the simplest tool to manage cash. I paid attention to what Dad and Granddad had told me over and over again, and Bill.com developed an award-winning Accounts Payable (AP) solution that allows business owners to simplify their bill pay and included the ability to sync data directly into their accounting package, eliminating double data entry.

Last year we created another award-winning solution for Accounts Receivable (AR) that allows businesses to send electronic invoices from their Bill.com account, and receive payments directly into their bank account.

This year, I am very excited to announce that, with our latest release, we launched our "CashView" system. Coming back around full circle from where we started, CashView takes the calendar in Bill.com to a whole new level. You now have a visual graph of what is happening with your cash. Our customers - small and mid-sized business owners and accountants – gave us feedback about this feature, and we are very excited to launch this new functionality. How long does it take to pay my vendors?

At first, allow 4 business days for both ePayments and mailed checks.  After you make 5 payments, things happen a bit faster.  For example, ePayments under $5000 will arrive in 2 business days.

Want to pay a bill that's coming due?  Here's how it works:
1. Enter details on the bill and schedule a payment.
(Tell us by 6 pm PT, and we'll start working on it the next business day.)
2. We show you an expected arrival date for each payment.
3. Your vendor gets paid in 4 business days.
(faster after your first 5 payments)

Business days are Monday through Friday (except bank holidays).

Employee Spotlight - Making a Difference

I love sales! I have been a sales person since I was a little girl. When my mom would say, “you can’t leave the table until you eat all you meatloaf!” I would say, “how about 3 more bites? If I don’t eat all of this, my stomach won’t hurt later!” I would negotiate and try to sell the benefits of everything.

When I was 15, I was in retail sales and after retail I worked in every sales area you can think of — working at a race track selling tickets, selling home improvement, selling subscriptions to real estate websites, and nothing has been more gratifying then selling and being a part of Bill.com’s sales team. By working at Bill.com, I not only showed people how to take a leap of faith by putting their finances online, I took it to the next level by using our product for my mom’s non-profit charity.

I learned a lot from my mother on giving as she served in the Peace Corps, taught catechism at church, tutored high school students in Spanish, and always helped people in any way she could. She was a nurse for 30 years at Petaluma Valley Hospital and before she was diagnosed with cancer, she started a nursing fund. Because my mom was always so active in the community, I decided that I wanted to start giving back like my mother did.

It was my mother’s request for everyone to donate to the Donna Lee Memorial scholarship fund instead of giving roses at her funeral. She wanted to raise money for students to have the opportunity to attend nursing school at Santa Rosa Junior College. Every year the scholarship fund donates $250.00 to local students in pursuit of a nursing career.

Working at Bill.com prompted me to organize an event that would allow me to incorporate our products online invoicing into the donation process for my mom’s scholarship fund. This year I am holding a fundraiser event at Traxx Bar and Grill in my hometown, Petaluma, CA. For anyone that eats or drinks at Traxx, a portion will be donated to the Donna Lee scholarship fund.

I am hoping to help make a difference in educating the nurses who have the ability to save lives. I believe we all want to leave a footprint before leaving this world and this scholarship is my way of giving back like my mother did.

Give credit where it's due (prepaid and overpaid Receivables)  
Do customers sometimes pay you in advance? In the past, that meant you needed to create an invoice before you could handle their payment.  Do customers sometimes round their payment "up", such as paying $1000 for a $999 invoice? In the past that meant you needed to create an extra invoice to account for the difference. Or maybe you're collecting for a worthy cause? In the past that meant creating a bunch of invoices to track donations.

That was the past. Today, if a customer pre-pays or overpays, give them credit now and apply it to invoices later. Customers can go online and see how much credit they have at any time. No more busywork with invoices for you, because we keep track (and you can take the credit).

And take some credit, too!  (put your logo in outgoing email)
We've gotten a jump on Spring cleaning, sprucing up the emails that get sent to your vendors and customers. Tables are easier to read; links are easier to understand.  And now you can show your logo in the emails, too.

The Bill.com Console

What is a console?

The Bill.com console essentially is your Bill.com dashboard. It enables you to manage all of your client companies from one central location. It provides you with the ability to upload your logo to display your brand prominently on Bill.com application pages. It's also the place where you determine how your clients will be billed for the Bill.com service.

You do not need a console to use the Bill.com services. However, if you use Bill.com to manage the cash flow of multiple clients, you will find that adding a console makes it easier to manage their accounts and to invoice for and administer the Bill.com service.

Why don't I have a console?

The Bill.com console is not supplied automatically as part of the Bill.com service/application. If you do not have a console, your company has not requested one on your behalf. You can, however, request a console at any time.

How can I get a console?

Bill.com must create a console on your behalf, but you can request one at any time. To obtain a Bill.com console, please contact Bill.com Customer Service.
